IGN's Best Classes Tier List, updated August 13, 2026, ranks classes for a coordinated three-player team rather than for every queue. It is a useful starting snapshot, not an official ranking and not a promise that it fits solo or the next patch.

  • S — Sorcerer, Blackarrow
  • A — Seer, Shadowstrix
  • B — Withered Knight, Mercenary

Read rankings by scenario

A useful list begins with a question: are you learning the extraction loop, looking for a reliable solo pick, building for a trio, or trying to win high-pressure PvP? The answer can change the ranking more than a small balance adjustment.

For first runs, value a class that gives you understandable combat patterns and enough control to reset a bad engagement. For established squads, utility and setup can be stronger than a simple damage comparison.

What to check after every patch

Before copying a tier-list recommendation, read the current official patch notes and look for changes to abilities, weapon interactions, cooldowns, healing, and extraction pacing. Then compare the source date of the ranking with the update date.

  • Does the list say whether it is for solo, squad, PvP, or PvE pressure?
  • Does it explain the build and gear assumptions?
  • Does it give a beginner alternative when the top option has a high mechanical floor?

Turn a tier list into a practice plan

Choose one class you can play consistently, then use build and beginner resources to improve its specific weak moments. Consistency in fights and extractions is more valuable than changing character after every loss.
