Learn the loop before you optimize it

Mistfall Hunter asks you to enter dangerous areas, collect value, survive monsters and rival players, and extract before the run turns against you. New players should make the loop feel familiar before trying to chase every fight or every rare item.

A successful early run can be small. Learn where you tend to enter, where pressure builds, and which exit decision gives you a clean reset.

Choose fights with an exit in mind

Before engaging, identify the cover, distance, and route you will use if the fight becomes messy. This turns an extraction game from a string of duels into a sequence of choices you can control.

• Do not reveal your position for loot you cannot safely carry out.
• Use your class tools to create a clean window, then reassess instead of autopiloting.
• If your resources are gone, retreating is often the winning play.

Give every loss one lesson

After a loss, identify the first decision that created the problem. It might be staying too long, taking a fight without an escape, using a cooldown early, or bringing gear you were not ready to protect. That one lesson compounds faster than changing your entire setup.
